More Olympic kit news! You don’t have to wait until the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Opening Ceremony to get a sneak peek of what the teams will be wearing. We’ve already covered Team USA uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren. This time, we talk Canada, Great Britain, and hockey jerseys. Let’s get into it!
Ben Sherman for Great Britain
Team GB released photos of its Opening and Closing Ceremony uniforms, modeled by ice dancers Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson. Ben Sherman is back as designer for the fourth Games for the Brits. According to the press release, the Opening Ceremony outfit features:
A wool dogtooth topcoat with a chequered lining, layered over a wool-blend mock-neck sweater with raised stripe accents and a repeating Union Flag motif. Smart sweat joggers trimmed with tonal Union Flag tape, an oversized scarf, coordinating hat and Vibram-soled winter boots laced in red, white and blue complete the look.

A chunky knit jacket, again with Union jack motif and Ben Sherman’s signature mod-tipped cuffs, brings a more relaxed vibe to the closing ceremony outfit. The pants sport a looser fit than the trousers for the Opening Ceremony.

My favorite piece? That ridiculous oversized scarf for the Opening Ceremony! If you didn’t know what team you are watching, that scarf makes sure you can never doubt it is GREAT BRITAIN. That scarf keeps a classic outfit from being boring.
Lululemon for Canada
No one can call Canada’s Opening Ceremony uniforms boring. Lululemon is back as official outfitter for Team Canada for the third time. Once again, designers play with different shades of red for the Canadians and go way off the reservation with a “glacier green-blue iridescent hue” for the Closing Ceremony.

We definitely don’t have to worry about the Canadians being cold marching into San Siro Stadium. They will sport a unique convertible quilted wrap vest that can be worn as a vest or scarf or wrapped up as a pillow. Other pieces in the outfit include a “shacket” (shirt and jacket in one) and backstraps to carry extra layers, like the pillow vest. Now, I am all for original and different but I don’t think clothes should ever be designed to double as a pillow. We’ve all rolled up a sweater to take a nap on the train but if it is made to do that, it is likely to be incredibly unflattering.

Team Canada won’t smell bad at the Closing Ceremony because under their puffer jacket and pants, they will sport the Maple Echo Seamless shirt, made with Silverescent “anti-stink” technology. Not sure what it says about Canadian athletes that this element is highlighted in the press release; do maple leaves smell bad?
Hockey Fashion on Ice

The fashion parade is not limited to the ceremonies. Ten out of the twelve teams competing in the men’s ice hockey tournament have released their uniform jerseys. All the teams have at least two versions of the sweaters, home and away. Most jerseys sport a version of a national crests, like the Swiss and Slovakian crosses or Swedish three crowns. We do get a whole menagerie of animals: the eagle for Germany, lions for Denmark, an armed lion for Finland, lions AND eagles for Czechia, and lions and a silver gryphon for Latvia. Are lions good at ice hockey?

Two teams’ jerseys are distinctly modern. France keeps it geometric and minimalist with bold lettering and simple horizontal stripes. Canada has three versions of its sweater in white, black, and red. For the black and red versions, the traditional maple leaf morphs into a holographic black and silver design.

Nike goes retro in its design for USA Hockey. It is based on the jerseys from the 1960 Winter Olympics, the first time the US won a gold medal in ice hockey. It is also the most boring of all the designs. Sure it’s classic and clean, but what about a holographic bald eagle shooting some glow in the dark arrows at a dragon? Just a suggestion.
