You might hear that the Olympics have achieved gender equity — but that means having an equal number of men and women competing at the Games, not that they have the same sports and events.

On this episode we talk with one of the people that’s working on that latter type of equality, Jordan Gray. Jordan is a female decathlete — and you may know that only men compete in the decathlon at the Olympics — who’s working on more inclusion for the sport, particularly at the Olympics. Jordan has also competed heptathlon, which is what women compete in at the Olympic level. Jordan tells us how the decathlon and heptathlon work and what she’s doing to try to get women’s decathlon in the 2024 Olympics.

Follow Jordan on Twitter, Insta and Facebook (Jordan Gray). Check out her website if you’re interested in some coaching sessions, and sign the petition to have women’s decathlon added to the Olympic program.
