We’re taking to the ice this week — the hockey ice, that is. Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey is on the docket!

First up, we’re talking with one of the “other Olympians,” people for whom the Olympics is also a dream goal, but who you won’t see competing. In the case of ice hockey, games wouldn’t be possible without officials, and getting that Olympic assignment is the call of a lifetime for many.

As a sports official herself, Jill is beyond excited to talk with our guest, women’s ice hockey linesman Jessica Leclerc. Jessica has proven she has what it takes to be an Olympic official and will be heading to PyeongChang to officiate her first Olympics. Learn more about the roles of ice hockey officials and Jessica’s road to the Olympics. Be careful–you might get sucked into some whistle talk as well.

Our second interview today is Jill’s conversation with U.S. Women’s Ice Hockey forward Brianna Decker from the Team USA 100 Days Out celebration.

In PyeongChang 2018 Olympic news, there’s some excitment about North Korea and South Korea marching together during the Opening Ceremonies. Also, we’re coming down to the wire for team selection, which means some  tough news for biathlete and Olympic great Ole Einar Bjoerndalen. Plus, we have another round of Olympic trivia! Who will be stumped this week?
